WORKSHOP - Suzy Hart: “The Poetic Pastel Portrait”

Registration

  • All Mini-Workshops will be held in the Community Room of the Matthews Community Center, 100 McDowell Street East, Matthews, NC. This is the larger building past the McDowell Art Center (same room as the morning demo). Workshop hours are 1:00 till 4:00pm.

    There is an optional catered lunch provided at 12:00 noon for $8.00 per person. Please email Brent Scott at bscott14@carolina.rr.com so she can plan the food amount. You may pay her directly.

Workshop:  Suzy Hart: "The Poetic Pastel Portrait" 
We are offering our PPS Members and Non-Members an optional Mini Workshop, designed to follow after our morning program demonstration, to provide a more in-depth learning experience from the instructor.

All Mini-Workshops will be held in the Community Room of the Matthews Community Center, 100 McDowell Street East, Matthews, NC. This is the larger building past the McDowell Art Center (same room as the morning demo). Workshop hours are 1:00 till 4:00pm.

Workshop: Will allow students to work at their easels, using their own photos, with instruction from Suzy, and includes constructing a solid scaffold for the features, head anatomy, poetic rendering and drawing followed with specific proportion and angle checks to preserve a solid underpainting and correct feature placement; creating skin tones; and building facial details.
