Workshop: Dawn Emerson: "From Photograph to Personal Expression with Pastel"

The focus of this workshop is to discover new ways to edit information from a photographic reference. A series of crafted exercises, clear examples, and short demos will take participants from "imitation" of a subject to personal expression.

For each step in a series, you are asked to change the emphasis or focus until you discover how and what you want to say!

Some mixed media will be used to generate each series, and pastel will be used throughout. "My goal for each student is to rediscover the sheer joy of making art and using pastel."

McDowell Art Center, 123 McDowell Street, Matthews NC

Cost is $340 per PPS member, $366 non-members, lunch included.
