Patti Jeffries was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. As a child she loved to draw, filling the pages of her sketch books with animals, flowers and imaginary creatures. Patti loved art so much that, in kindergarten, she often stayed in from recess to color with her big box of 64 crayons.

Patti received a BFA in Communication Art and Design at VCU where she discovered the beauty of the impressionistic period and artists such as Renoir, Edgar Degas, and Mary Cassatt. She worked with charcoal, conte crayon and colored pencils, learning to use the elements of light and dark as well as texture and fluid strokes to make her art vibrant and compelling. Patti later switched to the more impressionistic technique of soft pastels and was soon passionate about the dynamic colors and range of textures that could be produced with this medium. She is inspired by the beauty of nature and all the creatures in it and looks forward to exploring its unlimited potential with her paintings.

Patti has shown nationally at galleries and juried shows and has become locally popular for her expressive animal portraits.
