Jeannie is a native Charlottean. She graduated from Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina and after working in the computer science field for many years, Jeannie pursued art studies at Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina. At Queens University she studied with Melanie Longshore and Carmella Jarvi and also under Miriam Durkin. She has attended pastel workshops with Susan Ogilvie, Terry Ludwig, Greg Biolchini, Liz Haywood Sullivan, and Barbara Jaenicke. Jeannie’s work was juried into the 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Annual NC Juried Pastel Exhibition. She is a founding board member of the Piedmont Pastel Society. Jeannie has exhibited at the Piedmont Pastel Society Membership Exhibitions since 2006, winning the month of October in the Pastel Society’s 1st Art Calendar Exhibition in 2013 and the month of April in the society’s 3rd Art Calendar Exhibition in 2015. Jeannie has also exhibited at The Associated Artists of Southport Summer Regional Show and in 2014 won the Fred Fischer Memorial Award and in 2016 won the Brunswick Art Council Award. Jeannie enjoys painting close up studies of plants, trees, and flowers.
